Hello Caring Circle Sisters,
What a journey we are on, this ride of life! It seems to have so many roads, destinations, detours and challenges! It can definitely be overwhelming to find the right paths, find the correct maps that help us decide where we want to go and leave us feeling fulfilled and enlivened! If we all had the same ideas, wants and desires, it would be much easier!
However, we are individuals with unique desires about our futures and how ideas on how to get there. Not only that, each journey will present us with many unique obstacles and detours, not to mention fellow passengers with their own ideas of what path you should take! Yikes!
Now lets imagine that our journey is to better health and well-being. It is much the same because we are still the ones making the decisions, or are we letting the ideas, concerns and choices of others decide for us?
Here is where self compassion, self exploration and understanding the power to choose can help us on our health care journey. Together, as Caring Sisters, we are honoring our inward journey as well as supporting each other with the comradery of loving support. Even though we are learning about and discussing our unique paths, we are sharing our "road bumps", if you will, to help each other feel safer and less isolated on the way forward.
Adversity can either be a dark road alone or we can start to look for the light posts and gathering places to find the kinder, brighter way ahead. Over the past 6 weeks, we have looked a different avenues for ways of moving forward and creating greater "illumination" in these dark times. We are gaining deeper self awareness by learning about and looking for the light posts and becoming more confident to know when to take advice from others or choose to take the wheel to follow our inner voice and self confidence to the unknown!
Next Tuesday, we look at the importance of making informed, positive decisions and how adversity can be an opportunity for expanded growth and self awareness, not to mention confidence and self empowerment.
Below are two TED talks I hope you like as much as I did. The second one is new as of Friday.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
